Equip Potion Spells in Magic Loot

Turn Alchemy brews into combat skills—two slots, Replace Skill, and stage pairings that actually clear halls.

Equip Potion Spells

Alchemy in Magic Loot is not only a buff menu. Finished potions become combat spells you drink, then park on a skill slot. New players brew Rocket Spell or Dragon Breath and wonder why nothing changed in the dungeon—the bottle is in the bag, but the skill bar still holds the starter cast. This guide covers the verified equip flow, the two-slot limit, the Robux Unlock pitfall, and community stage pairings so you stop wasting Gold on formulas you never fire.

Place 133188236593503 · Universe 10506207587 · Creator Magic Magic +1 +1 +1. Read this after Brew Potions and before a Beat Bosses push. During Light vs Dark, faster hallway clears matter more than hoarding unused bottles.

How to put a potion on the skill bar

  1. Brew the formula at the hub Alchemy table (star the recipe so dungeon arrows highlight missing mats).
  2. Wait out the short mix timer—community examples cite about 10 seconds before the bottle lands in inventory.
  3. Drink the potion you want as a spell.
  4. Choose Replace Skill on an existing spell slot.
  5. Enter the dungeon and hold attack as usual (Controls — WASD, Space, hold LMB / tap on mobile).

There is no separate “equip wand spell” vendor. If you only craft and never drink + Replace, you paid Gold for a collectible.

Unlock is a Robux purchase for an extra slot, not a free third replace. Do not buy Unlock while you still have two unused or overlapping spells. Replace is the free path.

Verified early formulas (Alchemy Gold)

These three recipes are documented with ingredients and Gold costs. Always re-read the live cauldron—Beta can retune counts.

FormulaIngredientsAlchemy costCombat role
Rocket SpellBlueberry ×1, Withered Mushroom ×19 GoldEarly projectile / opener
Long-long ArmGolden Tooth ×1, Goblin Finger ×118 GoldReach / spacing
Water OrbGoblin Finger ×1, Dwarf Emblem ×127 GoldMulti-target hallway clear

Star a formula, then follow yellow arrows in the dungeon to the marked materials. Pick loot by hand—Magic Loot does not auto-vacuum drops. Collection Index still needs new types, so log Goblin Finger and Dwarf Emblem before you sell stacks.

Named later brews that players search: Dragon Breath (fan AoE — full walkthrough on Dragon Breath), plus community combat names Fire Arrow, Thunder-thunder, Wood Thorn, Radiant Sword, and Sheepy. Those later names appear in player guides as skill identities after you drink the matching potion. Confirm the bottle title on your Alchemy list before you farm a YouTube shopping list from a different wizard game (Similar Games).

Stage pairings that players actually use

Community routing (verify on your current build) looks like this:

  • Stages ~1–4: Fire Arrow + Water Orb for multi-target packs. Often available around the first Rebirth.
  • Stages ~5–12: Dragon Breath (fan AoE) with Thunder-thunder (multi + stun) or Wood Thorn (damage + heal).
  • Deeper / around Rebirth 10: double Radiant Sword for pressure.
  • Sheepy: single-target sheep transform—not an AoE clear tool. Use it on a stubborn elite or Elite Spawns target, not on full hallways.

Some recipes unlock only after enough Rebirths. If Alchemy hides a formula, you are not missing a secret vendor—you have not reset enough times. Read How to Rebirth before you spend Robux on Unlock hoping it reveals recipes. Unlock adds a slot, not a recipe book.

Two slots, one bottleneck

You start with two spell slots. That forces a choice:

  • Clear speed: one AoE (Water Orb / Dragon Breath) + one single-target or stun.
  • Survive a gate boss: one damage spell + one heal/utility (Wood Thorn when available).
  • Index farm: keep the AoE that tags the most packs so new material types hit the floor faster.

Do not Replace both slots with two versions of the same hallway tool unless you are testing. After Light vs Dark or Admin Abuse mutations, re-test pairings for one stage before you burn a full Gold bank.

Codes, luck potions, and training potions

Eurogamer (August 12, 2026) listed UPD2 as a Super Lucky Potion and admin abuse1 as a Super Training Potion. Those are inventory potions, not automatically slotted spells. Redeem via Settings (Codes), then decide:

  • Lucky bottles belong on a Get Rare Loot or Index session.
  • Training bottles belong on the left training pads, not in the dungeon skill bar.
  • Combat formulas above belong on Replace Skill.

Mixing those three jobs is the fastest way to feel like “potions do nothing.”

Common mistakes

  • Crafting Rocket Spell once for the Index and never drinking it.
  • Buying Unlock for a third slot while both free slots hold the starter cast.
  • Farming Dwarf Emblem without starring Water Orb, then selling the emblem for Coconut Gold.
  • Copying Wizard Alchemy skill names—confirm place 133188236593503.
  • Using Sheepy as a room-clear button.
  • Running Scripts that auto-replace skills and overwrite the AoE you just paid 27 Gold for.

Session plan

  1. Star Water Orb or Dragon Breath at Alchemy.
  2. Clear until arrows point at Goblin Finger / Dwarf Emblem / Dragon Breath mats.
  3. Return, brew, drink, Replace Skill.
  4. Push the stage band in the pairing list.
  5. Sell filler, buy the next Wand, claim Index if the bag capped.
  6. Only then look at event Robes or Brooms on Light vs Dark.

Beta honesty

Recipe Gold, ingredient counts, and which names sit on which bottles can move in a hotfix. This page locks the drink → Replace Skill rule, the Unlock = extra slot warning, and the three verified Gold formulas. Stage pairings are community habits, not studio patch notes. If your Alchemy list disagrees, trust the cauldron for the rest of the session.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the Magic Loot loop.

How do I equip a potion as a spell in Magic Loot?

Brew it at Alchemy, drink the bottle, then choose Replace Skill on an existing slot. Crafting alone does not put the spell on your bar.

What does Unlock do for potion spells?

Unlock is a Robux purchase that adds an extra skill slot. It does not unlock hidden recipes. Replace Skill on your two free slots first.

Which potion spells should I use early?

Community routes use Fire Arrow plus Water Orb on stages 1–4, then Dragon Breath with Thunder-thunder or Wood Thorn around stages 5–12. Confirm names on your Alchemy list.

Is Sheepy good for clearing dungeons?

No. Sheepy is a single-target transform. Use Water Orb or Dragon Breath for hallways and save Sheepy for elites or a stubborn boss add.

Do Super Lucky or Super Training code potions become spells?

Not automatically. Redeem them in Settings, then use luck bottles on loot sessions and training bottles on the left pads. Combat formulas still need drink plus Replace Skill.
